Our Neurotic Dog...

Anyone that has ever met Nohhi, would think that we beat her as a pup and that she doesn't do anything but be scared. Well, I just wanted to post some proof that she does play, she is daddy's little girl, and as long as you aren't watching...she is our little love bug! Oh, and no we didn't beat her as a pup...or now for that matter! I'll try and get some video of her and Dave playing hide and seek in the house...

Things that go squeek in the night

Dave did our taxes and we actually get a return this year! Yippee! We are finally doing something right. So we decided that it should probably go towards my lovely credit card debt. Unfortunately our 1970's washer had a conflict of interest with us. It has been making a nice squeeking noise, and Saturday it got louder...so we reconsidered our options and decided that it is always better to be safe than sorry! Luckily Fry's electonics had a great President's Day sale and we were able to upgrade a little bit. I call it my Valentine's Day present and discovered that laundry could be fun again...at least for another month!

Horrible Horrible Me...

I know! November 1st! All my friends that I was irritated at because they hadn't blogged through Christmas, have blogged and then some. My only excuse is that they have kids and lives and well, Dave and I don't! :-)

So we took a Friday drive up to NAU a couple of weeks ago to turn back in student loan money and meet with Dave's advisor that has been so wonderful and helpful with getting him going in this online degree. She informs us that two weeks after she was able to get Dave enrolled and set up, that they got a department email saying that due to the lack of interest and people progressing through the program that they will no longer be offering it after this semester!

We are counting our lucky stars and thanking the good Lord above because without this program we wouldn't know what to do!

Back on the Mountain

When I first started on my weight loss journey, I couldn't seem to eat right and work out at the same time. Focusing on both made me go cross eyed! So after a few months of just focusing on my diet, I decided to start hiking Thunderbird Mountain and it became a turning point for me and my weight loss. My whole mentality changed towards the "dieting" process and it truly became about being healthy. It soon got too hot to hike, and my mom and I joined the gym. Which has been great, but I have been itching to get back on the mountain. Well, today I did it! It felt so good to be out there again! I am going to try to make it my Saturday morning ritual, and maybe it is just what I need to get me back on track!

Twilight the Movie

So I was taking a little break from studying for my test today and there was a trailer for the movie. I clicked, I watched, I got chills and was flooded with memories of the books. I absolutely loved these books. I think I went through them faster than when I read Harry Potter. It reminds me of when I was in sixth grade and my English teacher told me that I had to choose an author other than L.M Montgomery by the time I was on the 4th book of the "Anne of Green Gables" series. I tend to find an author and stick with them and forget to branch out. The sad part...I have the entire series and still haven't finished it...dang Mr. Hunt! So for anyone who wants a fun read and some romance, I highly recommend Stephanie Meyer. Besides, it'll make your husbands jealous! Which is always fun!

Ahhh Success...almost

At least we are getting closer! Friday night we went out to speedworld to run the dragster. We have been fighting bugs like most cars do...fuel curves, timing, burning out starters....you get the hint. Up until Friday night we hadn't been so successful out at the track. Dave and his brother Paul spent a good portion of an afternoon "tweeking" thing and we think we finally know where to go from here! Yippee! We are pretty positive that once we figure out what the engine wants, we can get into the 7 second range. But for now Dave is having fun in the 8's. We were driving home from dropping the dragster off and Dave turns to me and said, "everything just seems to be going by so slow!" I can only image!

Those of us that weren't getting our hands grubby and greasy like our nephew Quinn who is always such a big help with the car....

Were enjoying some nice hot chili cheese nachos!

He Shoots, He Scores, Hey Goalie! You Suck!

On Thursday I got to experience my very first hockey game. Dave was able to get some free tickets from work. The seats were incredible.

It was a great game. I have decided that hockey fans are definitely a different breed. I felt bad that I wasn't wearing a jersey. It took about oh 5 seconds before the checking started and only 2 major brawls tried to get started. The second one was my favorite. If you look closely you can see the little kid sticking his tongue out at one of the Capitals players....brave kid!
After some close calls the Coyotes won!

and Dave was happy...as was I!
